Built for people who almost went
Every year, a version of the same conversation happens across this island. Someone describes something on the other side of the world — a festival, a crossing, a week somewhere that sounds impossible — and everyone at the table agrees it would be extraordinary. And then nobody goes.
Not because of money, usually. Because of the twenty separate arrangements standing between the idea and the departure gate, each individually manageable and collectively exhausting.
The Portal exists to absorb those twenty arrangements, one journey at a time. This year that journey is Boom Festival 2027: nineteen days, one departure, a group that travels together, and someone accountable at every stage of it.
Who travels with you
A host and a co-host travel with the group
The Portal Passport is the travel arm of The Portal by Selectro, a registered Mauritian event-promotion company. The festival lists The Portal by Selectro as its Ambassador for Mauritius, and that is how an allocation of tickets reaches this island at all.
Both travel with the group. Not as far as the airport — the whole way: the coach before dawn, the seven nights of camping, the beach at Caparica, the balloon field in Cappadocia, and the flight home. If something goes wrong at four in the morning, the person you need is camping fifty metres away.

The festival lists The Portal by Selectro as its Ambassador for Mauritius, and that relationship is why a limited allocation of tickets reaches this island. The people who hold it travel the whole nineteen days with you.
Hosts, from the airport to the return
Not as far as the airport — the whole way: the coach before dawn, the seven nights under canvas, and the flight home. A 24-hour contact number runs for the length of the journey.
The footage
You come home with something to show for it
Professional content creators travel with the group and work through the whole journey — the departure, the road east, the week itself, the coast, Cappadocia. This is not a phone held up by whoever is nearest.
You receive shareable footage of your own journey. Photography and filming happen in respectable conditions, and you consent to it in the terms you accept when you register — stated there in the same plain words, not buried in a clause. If you would rather not be in it, tell a host or write to us: you will not be filmed, and nothing else about your place changes.
How we work
One journey at a time
A short list done properly beats a long list done adequately. There is one journey on this site and no catalogue behind it.
One group
Everyone travels on the same booking, on the same aircraft, in the same camp. Small enough that both hosts know your name before you leave Mauritius.
Say the hard parts
The heat, the dust, the six-hour coach, the one morning the balloon has, and the day the money stops being refundable. You should know before you pay, not after.
Someone is there
Two people travel with the group for the whole journey. Not a number to call — people who are already there.
